Rococo Wedding Inspiration

Our favourite 8 ways to add the rococo trend to your marquee wedding

Rococo wedding style is going to be big over the next few years, so get ready for frills, fru fru, romance and the ultimate in more is more revival!

Here are some of our favourite ways to inject a little rococo into your marquee wedding, all trends which have been spotted at our own events...

Romantic Draping

When it comes to romance, the rococo trend is ahead of the game. Take inspiration from the billowing fabrics portrayed in paintings like the birth of Venus and soften all corners with sumptuously draped fabric and romantic hanging decor.

More is more! Add frills, lace, velvet and heaps of whimsical airy draping that sways in the breeze...

Classic candlelight

You can't create an 17th century style wedding with electric lighting. Candles are key here, and you really can never have too many.

Tall candlesticks in candelabras on tables, statement centrepieces with foliage, flowers and candles weaved throughout.

Swing from the Chandelier

A chandelier is a must have to complete this look. Sparkling cut glass that tinkles in the breeze is the ultimate in rococo romance.

Big blousy blooms

When it comes to your florals more is more again, incorporating foliage, fruit and trailing greenery will see you well on your way to the whimsical abundance you are trying to achieve. Using baroque art such as 'The Swing' as your inspiration will help you with this beautifully soft and maximalist style.

Garden wedding decor

Lacy white parasols and wrought iron furniture is an easy win for a rococo style garden wedding. Sumptuous day beds and swing seats would take this a step further.

Ornate details

Wherever you can add touches of ornate detailing and gold edging...

We love these ideas from real weddings this year...

Banqueting

If you're planning a rococo wedding you will have no less than a feast, an abundant banquet for your wedding food.

Good to add luxurious nibbles, pretty side plates and lots of interesting courses too.

Think Cream teas, lemonade stands and edible flowers. Rococo loves a garnish and an extra sprinkle.

Rococo wedding marquees

A chic white canvas marquee will be a beautiful light and airy backdrop to add all the frills and flounce you want to throw at it.

Or if pale isn't your thing we have seen some exceptional baroque style wedding receptions set in our black marquees.

To summarise if you're keen on creating a rococo style wedding the key is to go big and bold and then add some more. Really have fun with it, its supposed to be a little tongue in cheek. Think camp and full of whimsy.
